This site is run by Scotia Petkov. It exists to share news about the Saint’s End books. This page explains what happens to any information you give it.

What this site collects

The newsletter form collects your email address.

The contact form collects your name, your email address, and the message you write.

The advance reader form collects your email address, a name or handle, where you post reviews, an optional link to your reviewing profile, what you have read recently in the genre, and your confirmation that you have read the content note.

Nothing else is asked for, and none of these forms requires you to create an account.

Why, and on what basis

Everything here is collected because you chose to give it, for one purpose:

Consent is the basis for all of it. You can withdraw it at any time, and doing so costs you nothing but the emails.

Who else handles it

MailerLite stores the newsletter and advance reader lists and sends the emails. They are the only company that holds your email address on this site’s behalf, and their own terms apply alongside this page. Both of those forms open MailerLite in a new tab when you submit them. Once you are there, you are on their site.

Cloudflare hosts this site. Every visit reaches their servers before it reaches anything of ours, so they see the ordinary details of a web request, including your IP address. Cloudflare also provides the only traffic statistics this site keeps: which pages were opened, which browser and operating system, which country, and how quickly the page loaded. Country is as specific as that gets. No profile is built, no cookie is used for it, and it cannot identify you. There is no Google Analytics here and no advertising tracker of any kind.

The contact form is handled by Formspree, who pass your message on as an email. Before it sends, a Cloudflare check called Turnstile confirms the sender is a person rather than a bot. It looks at the connection making the request, not at what you wrote.

Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared for advertising. No list is rented, traded or passed to another author.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies.

Nothing here tracks you between visits, and nothing follows you to other sites. The traffic statistics described above work without cookies and cannot identify you. The spam check on the contact form sets nothing either.

If you submit the newsletter or advance reader form you are taken to MailerLite, and if you follow a link to Amazon, Goodreads or a social platform, those sites set their own cookies under their own terms.

How long it is kept

Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, after which they are removed from the active list.

Contact messages are passed straight on as email and are not stored by the company that handles the form. They are kept in the inbox while they are being answered, and deleted once the conversation is finished.

Advance reader applications are kept for the release cycle they were submitted for, and deleted afterwards.

What you can ask for

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent. Under Canadian privacy law and the GDPR you have these rights wherever you live, and they are offered here to everyone equally.

Use the contact form and say what you want done. There is no formal process to work through, and there is not much held in the first place: an email address, and anything you wrote yourself.

Every newsletter also carries a one-click unsubscribe. Using it removes you from the list without needing to write to anyone.

Links away from here

This site links to Amazon, Goodreads and social platforms. Once you follow a link you are on their site under their terms, and this page no longer applies.

Age

The books are for adult readers and this site is not intended for anyone under 18. No information is knowingly collected from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
